The highlight of visiting Kenrokuen

Lantern

Known as a symbol of Kenrokuen, it is a famous lantern that appears in tourist photographs.
It is a lantern to illuminate the water surface. The bifurcated legs were originally the same length, but were broken for some reason.
Currently, one leg is placed on the stone to keep balance.
The scenery that became the Trinity of the bridge over the front and the maple by the side is very tasteful, and many tourists are taking pictures here.

Karasaki Matsu

This pine is a pine that the 13th Daimyo “Nanayasu” took seeds from Lake Biwa (the largest lake in Japan) and carefully raised it. Snowing takes place in winter. The scene is the winter specialty of Kenrokuen.

Kikuzakura

Kikuzakura is a rare variety in Japan, and it is a cherry tree with only one tree in Kenrokuen.
The current Kikuzakura is the second generation. The feature of this cherry blossom is that more than 300 petals are attached to one flower. Because the figure is just like a chrysanthemum flower, the name “Chrysanthemum” is attached to the name.
Kikuzakura also has the property that the color of the petal changes gradually, and I look forward to seeing the change. The color gradually fades from dark red to white.
The best time is about two weeks from late April to early May. Among Japanese cherry blossoms, it is a particularly rare cherry tree.

Bairin

The plum forest in Kenrokuen Garden was created in 1969 by gathering beautiful plum trees that are said to be famous plum trees throughout the country. The number of plums is 200 and there are about 20 varieties.
You can see various plum trees.

Now it is a rest area where you can drink tea. The menu of tea is “Matcha” and “Sencha”.
